Final Call for Players

This is the final call for players interested in playing Major Midget Hockey with the Tri Pen Lions during the upcoming season.

Due to the limited number of players, especially 2nd and 3rd year midgets, that came out for our Player Identification camps, we have to make the hard decision to ice a team next year or not.

Right now we don’t have the numbers to move forward, and unless we heard from all interested players by 9:00 pm Thursday  May 10th, we will have to inform the Newfoundland Major Midget Hockey League that we will not have a team this year.

If you reside in the Tri Pen Area, and  interested in playing major midget hockey this season, or if you have any questions/concerns about playing, it is imperative that you notify the Tri Pen Lions General Manager John Budden.  John can be reached via e-mail: johnbudden@tripenlions.com or phone (709) 227-7367.

Did You Know:  This coming season the league is planning on playing the vast majority of its games on Saturday nights and Sunday mornings, to reduce the amount school time players have to miss.

Did You Know:  The Tri Pen Lions are planning on playing their home games in multiple locations throughout the Tri Pen area, to ensure the largest number of fans have a chance to witness the caliber of play in the top hockey development league in the Province.

Did you Know: A Tri Pen Alumni – Micheal Ryder holds the record for the most career points by a Newfoundlander in the NHL.  Who wants to break it?

The Tri Pen Lions Suspend Operations for the remained of the season

The Management and Staff of the Tri Pen Lions Major Midget Team would like to announce that the Team has suspended operations. Regretfully the team is forced to take this action due to a lack of players.

The Team will be holding a Player identification camp in April, to determine if there is enough player support to continue operations next year. More details will be release next month.

The Team would like to thank it’s fans, and sponsors for their unwavering support through out the year. Hopefully we will be back next year with a full slate of players.
